On June 25, 2026, I purchased a 3-month ChatGPT Plus order through BeWild.
If you have not read why I chose BeWild in the first place, or the complete process I used to purchase ChatGPT Plus from mainland China, you may want to start with the previous article:
After the first purchase succeeded, there was still one question I could not verify right away:
What exactly happens to a 3-month order when the second month begins?
Do I need to place another order and pay again myself, or will BeWild continue handling the monthly ChatGPT Plus subscription for the remaining months?
There was no way to answer that question on the day I made the purchase.
So from June 25 onward, I was essentially waiting for July 25.
Then something happened at exactly the wrong—or perhaps most useful—time.
On the day the first month ended, just as I was supposed to verify the second-month renewal, ChatGPT itself suddenly experienced an outage.
At first, my requests started failing. Then, after I tried logging back into OpenAI, I ran straight into a Server error 500.
At exactly the same time, my first monthly ChatGPT Plus period had reached its next renewal point.
So my first suspicion was naturally:
Did something go wrong with BeWild’s automatic renewal?
After checking with BeWild support, OpenAI’s official status page, the subscription status shown by BeWild, and OpenAI’s official billing records, I eventually confirmed one thing:
My second month of ChatGPT Plus was successfully renewed.
And once the new subscription period had been created, I did not need to go back to BeWild’s “Subscribed Renewal” page and manually pay for another renewal order.
However, this experience also left one detail that I cannot fully reconstruct:
I cannot determine whether BeWild had already completed the second-month renewal at the exact moment the ChatGPT outage began.
So this article is not claiming that “BeWild’s entire automatic renewal process happened instantly with absolutely no delay.” It records only what I can actually verify from the order and billing evidence:
The second month was ultimately renewed successfully, and I did not need to purchase a second order.
The Conclusion First
As of July 25, 2026, I can confirm the following:
- The 3-month ChatGPT Plus order I purchased through BeWild has successfully entered its second month;
- BeWild now shows the subscription expiration date as August 25, 2026;
- OpenAI’s official billing page shows a new ChatGPT Plus payment dated July 25, 2026;
- The new invoice is marked paid;
- The new ChatGPT Plus period runs from July 25 to August 25;
- I did not purchase another BeWild ChatGPT Plus order for the second month;
- After the second month had already renewed successfully, I asked BeWild support whether I still needed to use the “Subscribed Renewal” option. The reply was, essentially, “No, you don’t need to.”
There are still two things I cannot conclude yet.
First, I cannot confirm whether BeWild had already completed the second-month renewal when ChatGPT first began experiencing problems.
Second, the third month has not actually arrived yet, so I cannot claim that the third-month renewal has already been verified.
Here is the full renewal process.
1. The Previous Article Answered “Can I Buy It?”—This One Asks “What Happens Afterward?”
One month earlier, I was still looking for a workable way to subscribe to ChatGPT Plus from mainland China.
At the time, I researched and compared WildCard, OneKey, Dupay, Wise, PayForChat, BeWild, and several other options before eventually purchasing through BeWild.
I documented the complete first-purchase process in the previous article:
“How to Subscribe to ChatGPT Plus from Mainland China (2026): Hands-on Comparison of WildCard, OneKey, Dupay, Wise, and BeWild”
The main question in that article was:
Can a user in mainland China still successfully purchase ChatGPT Plus?
This time, the question had moved one step further:
After the first month succeeds, what happens in the second month?
On June 25, 2026, I purchased:
ChatGPT Plus
3 months
$66.09
Order creation time:
June 25, 2026, 16:13:48
BeWild order status:
Completed

So by July 25, my main concern was no longer whether the first purchase worked. It was:
How exactly does this 3-month order work once the second month begins?
2. Just as the Renewal Date Arrived, ChatGPT Suddenly Stopped Working Properly
On the afternoon of July 25, while using ChatGPT normally, I suddenly started seeing:
There was an error processing your request. Please try again.

If it had been a single failed request, I would not have paid much attention to it.
But when I later tried logging back into OpenAI, things became more unusual.
The login page showed:
Server error 500

That was when I suddenly realized:
Today was July 25.
And I had purchased my BeWild ChatGPT Plus order on:
June 25.
Exactly one month earlier.
The timing of the two events lined up almost perfectly.
On one side:
ChatGPT suddenly stopped working properly.
On the other:
My first monthly ChatGPT Plus period had just reached its next renewal point.
So I naturally began to wonder:
Had the second month failed to renew in time?
3. One Detail at the Time Made Me Even More Suspicious About BeWild’s Renewal Status
There is one detail here that I can only record from memory.
I did not take a dedicated screenshot at the time, so I cannot treat it as a confirmed fact.
As I remember it:
When ChatGPT first began having problems and I checked BeWild, the “My Subscriptions” page did not seem to show the new August 25 period that appeared later.
I even vaguely remember that there may have temporarily been no subscription record visible there at all.
That was another reason I became more suspicious that:
Could the original ChatGPT Plus period have expired while BeWild had not yet completed the next renewal?
But because I did not save a screenshot at that exact moment, I can no longer reconstruct the page accurately.
So I will not state:
“BeWild’s subscription record was definitely empty at the time.”
The most accurate way I can put it is:
Based on what I remember, I did not seem to see the new subscription period during the early stage of the outage, but I have no screenshot to verify that.
This also means that even after confirming the second-month renewal succeeded, we still cannot work backward and conclude that:
BeWild must have completed the renewal before the ChatGPT outage began.
4. I Contacted BeWild Support First, and They Said OpenAI Was Experiencing an Outage
Because the timing was so coincidental, I contacted BeWild support directly.
I explained that:
I placed a 3-month ChatGPT Plus order on June 25, 2026, at 16:13:48, and it was now July 25. That afternoon, ChatGPT Plus suddenly stopped working properly, and after I tried logging in again, OpenAI returned a 500 error.
After checking, support replied to the effect that:
OpenAI’s website was currently experiencing service problems, affecting subscriptions as well as login and normal use, so I would need to wait for OpenAI to fix the issue.

The support representative’s conclusion was clear:
OpenAI itself was experiencing an outage at the time.
However, since this happened to be my renewal date as well, I did not stop investigating based solely on the support response.
My next step was to open:
status.openai.com
5. OpenAI’s Official Status Page Was Indeed Reporting an Outage
When I opened OpenAI’s official status page, there was a clear incident notice:
We’re currently experiencing issues
The issue was listed as:
Elevated error rates
And the impact was not limited to ChatGPT. It also affected:
- APIs
- ChatGPT
- Codex
At the time, OpenAI was still investigating the incident.

This at least confirmed one thing:
There was official status information supporting BeWild support’s statement that OpenAI was having service problems at the time.
But two separate questions need to be distinguished here.
What OpenAI Status proves is:
OpenAI was indeed experiencing an outage.
It does not prove that:
My second-month BeWild renewal had already been completed at that point.
Both things could have been happening at the same time, but an OpenAI outage does not automatically prove that BeWild had already completed the renewal.
6. What I Still Cannot Confirm: How Far the Renewal Had Progressed When the Outage Began
This is the main uncertainty I think needs to remain in this real-world test.
In theory, there were at least several possible explanations.
Possibility 1: BeWild Had Already Completed the Renewal, but the OpenAI Outage Prevented Me from Using ChatGPT
In other words:
The ChatGPT Plus renewal itself had already succeeded, but OpenAI’s service was down. So even with a perfectly valid subscription, I still could not use ChatGPT.
This is entirely possible.
Possibility 2: The First Month Had Reached the Renewal Point, but BeWild Had Not Yet Completed the Next Subscription Period
Another possibility is:
The first ChatGPT Plus period reached its renewal point;
BeWild was preparing to process the next period;
OpenAI happened to experience an outage at the same time;
The second month did not appear immediately when I first checked;
The renewal was completed later.
This possibility cannot be ruled out either.
Possibility 3: The Renewal Had Been Processed, but Status Synchronization Was Delayed
It is also possible that the renewal process had already started, or even completed, while the OpenAI outage temporarily delayed updates to:
- the account status;
- the BeWild subscription status;
- OpenAI subscription information.
I do not have a complete screenshot of the subscription page from that exact moment, nor do I have a renewal timestamp accurate to the minute.
So:
I do not have enough evidence to determine which of these possibilities actually occurred.
That is also why I will not frame this article as:
“BeWild was working perfectly the whole time; everything was OpenAI’s fault.”
I can only document what I was actually able to verify afterward.
7. BeWild Later Showed a New Subscription Period, with the Expiration Date Moved to August 25
As I continued checking, I opened BeWild again and went to:
Subscriptions → My Subscriptions
This time, I could see:
Expiration
August 25 · 31 days remaining

This change was important.
My original purchase date was:
June 25
And the new expiration date was now:
August 25
In other words:
A new subscription period for the second month had been created successfully.
Regardless of whether that renewal occurred before, during, or after the outage, by this point I could confirm that:
The second month had ultimately renewed successfully.
Still, I did not want to reach that conclusion based only on BeWild’s own page.
So I continued by checking OpenAI’s official billing records.
8. OpenAI’s Official Billing Page Also Showed a New Payment on July 25
In ChatGPT, I opened:
Settings → Billing
I could now see two consecutive ChatGPT Plus invoices.
The first one:
June 25, 2026
PHP 982.14
Paid
The second one:
July 25, 2026
PHP 982.14
Paid

This was stronger evidence than looking at BeWild’s page alone.
At this point, it was no longer simply:
BeWild showing that the subscription had renewed.
Instead:
The OpenAI account itself now contained a new ChatGPT Plus invoice for the second month.
And the status was clearly:
Paid.
So the question:
Did the second month ultimately renew?
was no longer really in doubt.
The answer was:
Yes, the renewal succeeded.
9. The Invoice Details Confirmed the New Period Was July 25 to August 25
I then opened the new July 25 invoice.
The page showed:
Invoice paid
PHP 982.14
Payment date:
July 25, 2026

Looking further into the invoice details, I found:
July 25 – August 25, 2026
Item:
ChatGPT Plus Subscription (per seat)
Amount due:
PHP 982.14
Amount paid:
PHP 982.14
Amount remaining:
PHP 0.00

At this point, three pieces of information lined up with one another.
BeWild:
The expiration date had been updated to August 25.
OpenAI:
The new July 25 invoice had been paid.
Billing period:
July 25 to August 25.
So the final result of the second-month renewal was now very clear:
Success.
10. But the “Subscribed Renewal” Option Was Still There, and I Wasn’t Sure Whether I Needed to Do Anything
Once I saw that the second month had renewed successfully, I thought the matter was settled.
But when I returned to BeWild, I noticed that:
Subscribed Renewal
was still available.
Clicking it opened a:
Renewal Instructions

There were several important points in this dialog.
It explained that:
ChatGPT is officially billed on a monthly subscription basis.
The:
Automatic renewal date
shown on the page actually refers to:
the next renewal date for the current subscription period.
It also explained that:
If the current subscription has not yet expired, the date shown on the page usually does not change immediately after purchasing a renewal.
And that:
What you purchase is credit for the next renewal, which the system will use to renew automatically when the current subscription period expires.
Reading this actually raised another question for me:
The second month has already renewed, but the “Subscribed Renewal” option is still here. Do I need to open it and pay for another renewal order?
This is a very practical distinction.
Because if:
after purchasing 3 months, I still had to come back every month and manually pay another renewal order,
that would be noticeably different from a service where I genuinely do not need to manage each subsequent renewal myself.
So I asked support again.
11. I Asked Support Directly: Do I Still Need to Pay Through “Subscribed Renewal”?
At this point, BeWild’s “My Subscriptions” page clearly showed:
Expiration date: August 25
So I told support:
There is already a new subscription under My Subscriptions, and it expires on August 25. Do I still need to continue and pay a renewal order? It seems like I probably don’t.
By:
pay a renewal order
I meant the option I had just seen:
Subscriptions → Subscribed Renewal
Support’s reply was simple:
No, you don’t need to.

This screenshot confirms something very specific:
Once the second month had successfully renewed and the current expiration date had moved to August 25, I did not need to return to “Subscribed Renewal” and make another manual renewal payment.
There is an important limitation here.
The support representative did not explicitly tell me:
“You definitely won’t need to do anything at all for the third month.”
So I do not want to extend the meaning of that reply beyond what was actually asked.
The question support answered was simply:
Now that the new subscription is already there, do I still need to pay another renewal order?
The answer was:
No.
12. So What Did the Second-Month Renewal Actually Look Like in Practice?
Looking back now, these are the facts I can confirm.
June 25
I made a single purchase through BeWild:
ChatGPT Plus 3 months
$66.09
The first ChatGPT Plus subscription was then activated successfully.
July 25
The subscription reached the transition point between the first and second months.
At the same time:
ChatGPT began returning request errors.
When I tried logging in again:
OpenAI returned Server error 500.
OpenAI’s official status page:
confirmed that a service outage was occurring.
At that point:
I could not confirm whether BeWild had already completed the second-month renewal.
But later:
BeWild showed:
Expiration date: August 25.
OpenAI showed:
A new July 25 invoice, marked paid.
The new billing period:
July 25 to August 25.
Therefore:
The second month ultimately renewed successfully.
Throughout the process, I did not purchase a second ChatGPT Plus order.
And after the second month had renewed, I asked whether I still needed to go to:
Subscribed Renewal
and pay another renewal order.
Support replied:
No, you don’t need to.
That is the part of the process I have now verified in practice.
13. “The Automatic Renewal Succeeded” Does Not Mean I Can Prove There Was Never Any Delay
This is probably the point I most want to make clear in this article.
What I can confirm is:
The second month of my BeWild 3-month ChatGPT Plus order ultimately renewed successfully.
What I cannot confirm is:
The moment the old period ended, the new subscription was completed immediately with absolutely no delay.
I simply do not have evidence for that.
In fact, based on my own memory:
When the ChatGPT outage first started, I do not remember seeing the new period that appeared later under BeWild’s “My Subscriptions.”
But because I did not take a screenshot, I cannot verify that now.
So I think the most accurate conclusion is:
The second month ultimately renewed automatically, and I did not need to purchase a second order. Once the new period appeared, I also did not need to manually pay another order through “Subscribed Renewal.”
As for whether the renewal happened:
before the OpenAI outage,
during the outage,
or after the outage had begun,
I cannot determine that from the evidence I have.
I think preserving that uncertainty is more useful than simply writing:
“BeWild’s automatic renewal works perfectly.”
That would say more than the evidence actually supports.
14. Another Easy Point to Misunderstand: A New OpenAI Invoice Does Not Mean I Paid BeWild Again
When I first purchased the 3-month BeWild order, I paid:
$66.09
After the second month began:
A new monthly ChatGPT Plus invoice appeared in OpenAI.
But:
I did not pay BeWild again for another new 3-month order.
So in this context, “automatic renewal” is more accurately understood as:
Within the 3-month service I had already purchased, the second month of ChatGPT Plus successfully entered a new official monthly subscription period.
OpenAI still records ChatGPT Plus as one monthly period at a time.
That explains why I can now see:
one invoice dated June 25;
and another invoice dated July 25.
Meanwhile, on the BeWild side, I had already purchased 3 months of service in a single order.
I think this distinction is worth explaining separately.
Otherwise, it would be easy to interpret:
BeWild 3-month ChatGPT Plus
as meaning:
OpenAI itself creates one single 3-month subscription on the account.
At least based on my own OpenAI billing records, that is not how it appears to work.
15. ChatGPT Later Recovered for Me, While OpenAI Status Still Showed an Ongoing Incident
After finishing the subscription and billing checks above, I later logged back into ChatGPT again.
This time:
ChatGPT was working normally again.
In other words, for my own account, the problem I had encountered earlier was gone.
Interestingly, however:
The OpenAI Status page was still reporting an incident at that time.

This is not necessarily contradictory.
A status page reflects the state of the platform as a whole, while an individual account may recover before the overall incident is considered resolved.
So:
My ChatGPT was working normally again
does not prove that:
OpenAI’s overall outage had ended.
Likewise, it does not help me determine:
the exact time when BeWild completed the second-month renewal.
I can still rely only on what I was ultimately able to verify:
The second month ultimately renewed successfully.
16. This Experience Taught Me How I Should Troubleshoot Similar Situations in the Future
The easiest reason to misjudge what was happening this time was that two events happened at almost exactly the same time.
On one side:
ChatGPT Plus had just reached its renewal point.
On the other:
OpenAI itself happened to be experiencing a service outage.
If I encounter:
ChatGPT suddenly becomes unavailable + it happens to be the renewal date
again in the future, I will not immediately assume that one caused the other.
The two sides can be checked separately.
Check the Subscription Status First
The main things to verify are:
- whether BeWild’s current expiration date has been updated;
- whether OpenAI has generated a new ChatGPT Plus invoice;
- whether the new invoice has been paid;
- what dates the new subscription period covers.
Then Check OpenAI’s Official Status
Confirm:
- whether ChatGPT is currently affected by an official outage;
- whether APIs, login, or other services are affected at the same time;
- whether OpenAI is investigating the issue or recovering the service.
This at least helps distinguish between:
the subscription itself failing to renew,
and:
the subscription being valid while OpenAI’s platform is temporarily unavailable.
Of course, as happened this time, when both events occur at almost exactly the same time, it may still be impossible to reconstruct their order down to the minute.
In that situation, the most honest approach is simply:
Only claim what the evidence actually proves.
17. Compared with the First Successful Purchase, I Think the Second-Month Renewal Was More Important to Verify
When I first purchased ChatGPT Plus through BeWild, what I was able to confirm was:
It can be purchased successfully.
But for someone who plans to use ChatGPT Plus long term, the practical question obviously does not end with the first purchase.
The next question inevitably becomes:
What happens one month later?
If a so-called 3-month order still required me every month to:
purchase again,
pay again,
and manually manage the account again,
then the long-term experience would still be fairly inconvenient.
What this test has actually verified is:
June 25, 2026:
The initial purchase succeeded.
July 25, 2026:
The second month ultimately renewed successfully.
Current expiration date shown by BeWild:
August 25.
New OpenAI invoice:
July 25, paid.
New official monthly period:
July 25 to August 25.
And I:
did not purchase a second BeWild ChatGPT Plus order.
Once the new subscription period had appeared, I also:
did not need to return to “Subscribed Renewal” and make another manual renewal payment.
Compared with a product page simply saying that a 3-month option is supported, I care more about this real-world result:
I actually waited a month and then saw the second month renew successfully.
18. Will the Third Month Also Renew Automatically? It Is Still Too Early to Say
I purchased a:
3-month order
So far, I have actually experienced:
the initial purchase;
and:
the second-month renewal.
Based on the order itself and what happened during the second month, I naturally expect that:
the third month will continue to be handled under the same 3-month order.
But at the moment:
August 25 has not arrived yet.
Also, when support told me:
“No, you don’t need to.”
the question was specifically whether:
after the second month had already renewed, I still needed to go into “Subscribed Renewal” and make another payment.
I did not separately ask:
“Will the third month definitely require no action from me at all?”
So I will not claim in advance that:
the third month has already been confirmed to renew automatically.
The more accurate status is:
Second month: verified successfully in practice.
Third month: has not happened yet.
When August 25 arrives, I will continue checking:
- whether BeWild’s expiration date updates again;
- whether OpenAI generates a third monthly invoice;
- whether ChatGPT Plus continues working normally;
- whether I still do not need to manually purchase another renewal order.
Only then will the full 3-month cycle of this order have been verified in practice.
19. How I Evaluate BeWild’s Automatic Renewal So Far
As of July 25, 2026, I would not summarize the result as:
BeWild’s entire automatic renewal process was instantaneous and completely trouble-free.
I do not have enough evidence to support a claim that strong.
What I can confirm is:
The second month of the 3-month ChatGPT Plus order I purchased through BeWild ultimately renewed successfully.
And:
I did not purchase a second order.
Once the new period appeared:
I also did not need to go back to “Subscribed Renewal” and make another manual payment.
At the same time, one detail still cannot be fully reconstructed:
At the exact moment ChatGPT first began experiencing the outage, I cannot determine whether BeWild had already completed the second-month renewal.
I would rather leave that uncertainty in the article than turn something I cannot prove into a definite statement simply because I am currently using BeWild.
But for the question I originally wanted to verify:
“When a 3-month order reaches the second month, will it ultimately renew?”
I now have an answer:
At least for my order, the second month has been successfully verified in practice.
20. Final Thoughts
This was originally supposed to be a very simple test:
Wait one month and see whether BeWild renews the second month.
Instead, on the most important date, July 25:
ChatGPT requests started failing;
the OpenAI login page returned a 500 error;
OpenAI Status confirmed that a service outage was underway;
and my ChatGPT Plus subscription happened to be reaching its monthly renewal point at the same time.
I even vaguely remember that:
when the outage first began, BeWild’s “My Subscriptions” did not seem to show the new period that appeared later.
But because I did not save a screenshot from that exact moment, I cannot verify that detail now.
Later:
BeWild’s expiration date changed to:
August 25.
OpenAI showed:
a new paid invoice dated July 25.
The new ChatGPT Plus period was clearly:
July 25 to August 25.
I then asked BeWild support:
Now that the new subscription is already there, do I still need to use “Subscribed Renewal” and pay another renewal order?
Support replied:
No, you don’t need to.
After that, I logged back into ChatGPT:
and it was working normally again.
But OpenAI Status at that point:
was still reporting an ongoing service issue.
So as of July 25, 2026, I think the most accurate summary is not:
BeWild had absolutely no problem and everything was entirely OpenAI’s fault.
Instead:
OpenAI was indeed experiencing a service outage at the time; meanwhile, my second month of BeWild ChatGPT Plus also ultimately renewed successfully.
But at:
the exact moment the ChatGPT outage began, I cannot confirm whether BeWild had already completed the renewal.
What I can actually verify from the order and billing records is:
The second month ultimately renewed successfully.
I did not purchase a second order.
Once the new period had been created, I also did not need to manually pay another order through “Subscribed Renewal.”
21. About Three Hours Later, OpenAI’s Official Status Finally Returned to Normal
After ChatGPT had already returned to normal for me, OpenAI Status did not immediately show that the incident was over.
When I opened status.openai.com again at that point, the page was still reporting an ongoing service issue.
I continued watching it for a while.
When I eventually checked OpenAI’s official status page again, the message at the top had changed to:
We’re fully operational
It also stated:
We’re not aware of any issues affecting our systems.
At the same time, the status indicators for APIs, ChatGPT, Codex, and the other services had all returned to green.

From the first time I saw OpenAI’s official status page clearly reporting an incident to the point when the page finally returned to normal, about three hours had passed.
This made me even more confident that it would have been wrong to simply attribute “ChatGPT suddenly stopped working” to BeWild’s renewal process.
OpenAI really was experiencing a service disruption that day, and it lasted for a meaningful amount of time. Recovery also happened in stages rather than everywhere at once.
At first:
ChatGPT was not working properly, and the OpenAI login page returned Server error 500.
Later:
I could log back into ChatGPT and use it normally, while OpenAI Status was still reporting an incident.
Finally:
About three hours later, OpenAI Status finally changed back to Fully operational.
In other words, an individual user being able to use ChatGPT again does not necessarily mean OpenAI has already declared the platform-wide incident resolved.
And because this outage happened to coincide with my ChatGPT Plus monthly renewal point, the two events overlapped and made the initial diagnosis much more confusing.
Looking back, the full timeline was roughly:
ChatGPT Plus reached the second-month renewal point
↓
ChatGPT suddenly began returning request errors and login 500
↓
OpenAI Status confirmed incidents affecting ChatGPT, APIs, and Codex
↓
BeWild’s second-month subscription was ultimately created successfully
↓
OpenAI’s official invoice confirmed that the new July 25 to August 25 period had been paid
↓
BeWild support confirmed that I did not need to use “Subscribed Renewal” again at that point
↓
ChatGPT returned to normal for my account first
↓
OpenAI Status was still reporting the incident
↓
About three hours later, OpenAI Status finally returned to Fully operational
So in the end, this experience confirmed two independent facts:
OpenAI really did experience a service disruption lasting several hours that day.
And at the same time:
The second month of my BeWild 3-month ChatGPT Plus order also ultimately renewed successfully.
As for the exact moment when the outage first began, I still cannot say whether BeWild had already completed the second-month renewal, was processing it at the time, or completed it afterward. I do not have a screenshot of the subscription status from that moment, so I will not claim to know more than the evidence shows.
But by this point, the entire incident had reached a clear conclusion:
ChatGPT returned to normal.
OpenAI’s official status eventually returned to normal.
And the second month of ChatGPT Plus was confirmed to have renewed successfully.
In the previous article, I verified:
Can I buy it?
In this article, I verified:
Will the second month ultimately renew?
As for the third month:
I will continue to verify it after August 25 actually arrives.
