My Remote Job Search Process (V2)

(4) My Remote Job Search Process (V2)

After nearly a month of practice, I made a major adjustment to my remote job search process.

compared to v1 Minimalist Remote Job Search Board: 10 websites for PHP / Go dual-stack backend + 5 TG channels + 2 discovery sources, Frequently refreshing the recruitment website every day does not bring more suitable opportunities, but it takes a lot of time. Therefore, I decided to adjust the job search from ‘high-frequency browsing’ to ‘low-frequency attention, concentrated screening’.

📱 Daily (passive acquisition opportunity, almost no active time)

Usually no longer take the initiative to open various recruitment websites.

If Telegram has a new post push, just browse the title at fragmented time.

Currently reserved channels:

  • Remote Work AI Information Station
  • Mid-to-high-end IT technology recruitment
  • Overseas Remote / On-the-job Technical Recruitment
  • Remote work HUB

If the title contains the following keywords:

  • php
  • go
  • golang
  • backend
  • Remote
  • web3
  • AI

Click to view the details.

For positions that are really interested, forward them to the Telegram favorites and wait for the unified processing every week.

where,Remote Work AI Information StationMany global REMOTE positions will be pushed according to the direction of my attention, so there is basically no need to actively flip through historical news.

🗓️ Every Wednesday (active refining + concentrated delivery, about 2 hours)

The fixed arrangement of about 2 hours every Wednesday, and the remote post screening and delivery are uniformly completed.

Focus on the following core websites:

  1. Remote China
  2. Electric duck
  3. v2ex
  4. Remote.work
  5. studygolang
  6. dejob.ai
  7. rebase issues
  8. abetterweb3

Complete the following work in a unified manner:

  • Browse new jobs in the last week;
  • Determine whether the position meets your goals;
  • Submit your resume;
  • Reply to the recruiter’s message;
  • Update your post track record;
  • By the way, evaluate whether there are new recruitment websites worth joining, or existing information sources are worth deleting.

Although it seems that the browsing frequency is reduced, it is actually more efficient.

After the last statistics, I spent about 2 hours screening the posts that have been released for nearly 9 days, and finally found that the opportunities that really suit me are still very limited. This also made me realize that instead of repeatedly refreshing every day, it is better to focus on the positions that are really worth applying for.

Variation of v2

v1, I am concerned about:

Where to find a job.

As a result, I am constantly looking for new recruitment websites, new Telegram channels, and hope to cover more information sources.

V2, what I’m starting to focus on is:

Which channels are really worth investing in the long term.

Through continuous practice, I have gradually eliminated duplicate data sources, a platform with strict regional restrictions, and channels that have not been able to bring effective opportunities for a long time, so that my remote job search board is more and more streamlined.

Save the time, and I want to put in more valuable things:

  • Learn Go and high-performance backend development;
  • Make up for the relevant knowledge of Web3 trading system;
  • Learn AI engineering practice and apply it to actual development;
  • Continue to improve your blog, GitHub and personal portfolio.

I believe that instead of swiping a few more recruitment websites every day, it is better to continue to improve your competitiveness. When the opportunity that really suits you comes, you can have enough ability to seize it.
